The Rockefeller Estate

You'll enjoy a view of time gone by like none you've ever seen when you step into this historic world of elegance and opulence.

"The House and Inner Garden Tour" takes you on a guided tour of the magnificent home created in 1909 by philanthropist John D. Rockefeller. You'll see the main floor of the house, the art galleries, the gardens surrounding the house, and the Coach Barn containing antique carriages and classic automobiles. (This tour is offered throughout the day.)

The Visitor Center opens at 9 a.m. and tours operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The last tour of the day is at 3 p.m. weekdays and 4 p.m. weekends. (Due to the popularity of the tour, you must arrive at the Visitor Center by 1 p.m. on weekdays and by noon on weekends.)

When you arrive at the Visitors Center at Philipsburg Manor, turn in your ticket that says "Kykuit" for a pass that will allow you on the next available bus and admission on a tour. For more information, call 914-631-9491; on weekends only, 914-631-3992, or visit www.hudsonvalley.org.

The tour is not recommended for children under the age of 10. Strollers and backpacks must be checked at the Vistor Center prior to tour.

Kykuit is a historic site of the National Trust and is operated and maintained by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund as a center for its philanthropic programs. Historic Hudson Valley operates the public programs at Kykuit.

Price: From Grand Central Terminal or Harlem - 125th Street: Adults, $34.75; Seniors, $30; Children 5-11, $21.50; Children under 5, $13. Save an additional 5 percent on rail fare when you purchase this package through WebTicket.

Travel Information: Take the Hudson Line to Tarrytown Station. From there, take a cab to the Visitors Center at Philipsburg Manor.
